The Cone of Power

The Cone of Power is the supreme technique of collective magick. Every member of the Coven pours their individual energy into a unified stream and directs it toward a single purpose. When executed with discipline and focus, it's the most powerful working a group of practitioners can perform.

The Principle

Each member is a single flame. Alone, each has reach, but limited reach. The Cone merges those flames into a single column of fire, focused to a point, directed with the precision and force of a spear.

Energy is raised through vibration, chanting, or focused meditation. As it builds, participants visualise it converging above the centre of the circle, forming a cone of light. At the peak, the leader releases it. The cone collapses into a directed beam and strikes the target with the combined will of every person in the room.

Prerequisites

The Cone requires trained participants. Members should have several months of group meditation and ritual behind them before attempting it. If the group can't sustain synchronised breathing for 10 minutes without losing cohesion, the foundation isn't yet in place.

When the group is ready:

Define the purpose with precision. Vague intention produces vague results. Write the purpose down. Read it aloud before beginning. Every person must hold the same image, the same desire, the same target. A single unfocused participant bleeds energy from the whole.

Cleanse the space. Perform the Banishing Ritual before the working. The environment must be energetically clean.

Work within the ritual framework. The Cone is performed inside a formal ritual: after the invocation, before the closing.

The Technique

  1. The Circle. Members stand facing inward. Hands joined or at sides, depending on the group's established practice. The leader stands in the circle, not at its centre.
  2. Raising the Energy. The leader initiates a chant, a vibration, or a rhythmic sound. The group joins. Begin low and quiet. Build gradually, over several minutes, in volume and intensity.
  3. Effective methods: vibrating a name of power (ZEUS, SATYA, AUM) with progressively increasing speed; chanting an affirmation tied to the working's purpose; rhythmic stamping or clapping combined with vocal toning.
  4. While the sound builds, every member visualises energy rising from the earth through their body, streaming upward from the crown of the head, converging at a point above the circle's centre. The streams form a cone of brilliant light. Colour corresponds to purpose: white for purification, gold for empowerment, blue for protection, dark red for destruction.
  5. The Peak. The leader senses when the energy reaches its maximum. The air feels charged. The sound has reached full intensity. The visualised cone blazes. The leader holds the group at this peak for several seconds. Releasing too early wastes accumulated force. Holding too long exhausts the participants. The timing is intuitive, and it improves with experience.
  6. The Release. At the peak, the leader commands: "NOW!" or "RELEASE!" or speaks the name of the target. All members simultaneously thrust their will (and optionally their hands) upward, visualising the cone collapsing into a single beam, propelled toward the target at tremendous speed.

    The sound stops. Silence.

  7. Grounding. Place both hands flat on the floor. Breathe deeply. Visualise excess energy flowing back into the earth. Take several minutes with this. Insufficient grounding leaves members lightheaded and energetically unbalanced.

After the Working

Don't analyse the working immediately. The energy has been dispatched. Excessive discussion can dilute what's been sent. Share food and drink. Return to ordinary conversation. Allow the Gods to carry the force to where it needs to go.

In the days following, members may notice synchronicities, dreams, or subtle shifts related to the working's intention. Note these. Share them at the next gathering. Over time, the Coven develops a grounded awareness of its own effectiveness, built on repeated, observable results.

The Law of Ma'at

The Cone of Power produces real effects. The Law of Ma'at applies to collective workings with the same force it applies to individual ones.

A Cone directed with just cause, with righteous intention, with the endorsement of the Gods, will land with considerable force. A Cone directed out of petty malice, jealousy, or trivial grievance will return upon the group that sent it. Every member shares in the consequence.

Be certain of your cause before you raise the Cone. Once the energy is released, it can't be recalled.
